How the Mali Brae Farm love story began
Lovingly run by the Dark family, Mali Brae Farm is a boutique wedding and event venue with a bespoke and personalised approach.
Originally purchased as a family home and an opportunity to escape the hustle of city life, Greg and Shelley Dark found 90 acres of farmland with a run-down cottage just aching for a transformation. Greg painstakingly restored the cottage for his family to reside in, and subsequently won numerous heritage awards for his efforts. It is this attention to detail and care that has transferred to how each and every wedding is handled.
At the heart of their ethos are integrity, meticulousness, and, above all, passion. Each member of the Dark family and the wider team brings complementary skills to this unique family-run business.
Initially starting with Greg’s energy and vision, and Shelley’s business and financial prowess, the Mali Brae Farm team has expanded with each person bringing their extraordinary talents together and creating new meaning to what a family-run business can achieve.
Together, their mission is to continue delivering a premium and personal experience for every client and ensure their event at Mali Brae Farm is everything they ever dreamed it could be.

I could not recommend Mali Brae farm and the family and team behind this venue more highly! They were an absolute joy to work with throughout the whole process and we felt completely supported and confident in our vision of the day.
The property has a range of ceremony locations so despite 100 year floods, we still had an absolutely beautiful indoor ceremony option. Plus we were still able to access the garden for photos in their buggy, which added an extra layer of adventure. The food was delicious and the whole energy of the place was so warm and fun. We cannot wait to come back for one of their seasonal weekend lunches.

Above all, I’m consistently so impressed by the Mali Brae team. They are polite, helpful and warm. I’ve seen them calm nervous couples down, and I’ve watched as they share in the joy that is a wedding day (even though they see lots of weddings!) No issue is too great for them, and they are truly wonderful people to have around on your wedding day.
I’ve eaten at LOTS of wedding venues, and food at Mali Brae is among the best I’ve tasted. Also the portions are very generous 🙂
If you’re considering having your wedding here, I urge you to go meet the team and have a walk around this magical spot. Any season, any weather, it’s such a beautiful place to celebrate a wedding. Every time I consult my diary and see I have a Mali Brae wedding coming up, I smile as I know it’s going to be a great day!
